Choupo-Moting and Gnabry seal Bayern's progress as PSG fall short again

Bavarian giants secure quarter-final berth with dominant display

Substitute Choupo-Moting and winger Gnabry on target as Bayern Munich eliminate Paris Saint-Germain from the Champions League

Bayern Munich secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday night with a 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain. Substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and winger Serge Gnabry scored the goals that sent the German champions through to the last eight.

The match was a rematch of last season's final, which Bayern won 1-0. And it was the German champions who again looked the more dominant side. They controlled possession for much of the game and created the better chances.

Choupo-Moting, who came on for the injured Robert Lewandowski in the 25th minute, opened the scoring in the 52nd minute. He headed home a cross from Gnabry to give Bayern the lead.

Gnabry doubled Bayern's lead in the 73rd minute. He curled a shot into the top corner of the net from outside the area.

PSG had a few chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to find a way past Bayern's well-organized defense.

The victory was Bayern's fourth in a row over PSG in the Champions League. It also extended their unbeaten run in the competition to 19 matches.
