Nashville, Illinois - July 26, 2022 - Two dam failures at the Nashville Reservoir have caused evacuations and road closures in the area. Heavy rainfall on Monday night caused the secondary dam to breach, threatening the primary dam and prompting the evacuation of approximately 200 residents living downstream.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the area, and residents are urged to be prepared to evacuate if necessary. An 11-mile stretch of Interstate 64 near Nashville has been closed due to flooding, and other roads in the area may also be impassible.
